- Strong commitment to teaching and research.
- Research in any of the following areas aligned to the strategic goals of the Department and the University.
- Process modelling & automation, mineral processing, water treatment, environmental process engineering, catalysis and renewable energy.
- Formal lecturing experience at University level, including course and curriculum development.
- Demonstrated track record of students' supervision and mentoring.
- Publications in peer-reviewed ISI or IBSS listed journals.
- Record of attracting research funds from national & international sources.
- Outstanding track record of publications in peer-reviewed ISI or IBSS listed journals.
- Good track record of supervision of Masters, PhD students and Postdoctoral research fellows.
- Demonstrated ability/experience to work with a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated evidence of national and international collaboration.
- Evidence of community engagement.
- Registered Professional by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), or immediate application in case of appointment.
