Job Description

  • Manage proactive and responsive relationship with grant donor in close collaboration with World Vision National Office staff.
  • Direct and oversee the Tubiteho Health program, ensuring that all program strategic objectives are met through proper detailed component planning, staffing, and results-driven implementation.
  • Serve as primary liaison with USAID on technical matters and adjust interventions and operations in response to USAID technical direction. Direct and oversee grant implementation, ensuring that all strategic objectives are met through proper design, staffing, implementation and quality assurance. Responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the award.
  • Research new funding opportunities and develop and write funding proposals, if second phase of the grant or cost extension is planned.
  • Supervise a team of senior level national staff with skills across a diverse set of technical areas.
  • Ensure proper technical capacity of staff to manage complex donor-funded projects.
  • Lead grant staff and short-term consultants.
  • Establish and maintain effective project reporting, evaluation, and communication systems. Submit timely accurate and professional reports that meet donor requirements.
  • Manage grant/project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and SO staff.
  • Ensure grant/project expenses are reasonable, allocated as per assigned budget, prudent and spent in accordance with donor rules and regulations to ensure low risk audits.
  • Consistently look for more effective and efficient implementation methods and opportunities to increase impact.
  • Participate and conduct on-going lessons learned with key staff and partners/sub-grantees.
  • Participate, lead NGO – donor forum to represent WV, the project, and seek cooperation for joint advocacy opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an adequate human resource plan consistent with WV policies, donor requirements and local laws.
  • Ensure and invest in proper technical capacity of the program staff to manage complex USG funded project.
  • Oversee property and equipment acquisition, disposition, and management in compliance with WV internal and donor requirements.
  • Represent the program to USAID, Burundi government, UN and other appropriate bodies.
  • Identify opportunities for synergy and ensure integration across program sectors, with other World Vision Burundi programs and/or with other service providers to maximize impact for beneficiary households and communities.
  • Ensure strong integration of gender, do no harm, and accountability to communities (as defined by the World Vision Humanitarian Accountability Partnership), including greater participation of community stakeholders across all sectors, regular communication to communities, and systematic collection of feedback.
