Job Description

  • Carrying out applicable, notable laptop and area research on P/CVE and other relevant topics in close collaboration with Senior Research Advisors.
  • Providing synthesised and updated periodic evaluation of political tendencies and traits in the HoA, specially as they relate to P/CVE.
  • Building and updating a mapping of P/CVE actors in the HoA vicinity.
  • Drafting research proposals, idea notes, opinions, studies and background papers, in addition to coverage briefs.
  • Supporting the layout of context-appropriate, modern research methodologies and tools, consisting of participatory and collaborative methods for generating information and proof. 
  • Regularly monitoring of relevant country wide and regional coverage procedures on P/CVE.
  • Supporting the work of LPI’s CVE Reference Group.
  • Contributing to the translation of research findings and proof to policy alternatives and programmatic imperatives.
  • Supporting the making plans and implementation of LPI activities taking area in the HoA vicinity.
  • Presenting studies findings and facilitating external and inner discussions on subjects of relevance to the programme.
  • Deepening the partnership and collaboration with IGAD, especially with the IGAD Centre of Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.
  • Building relationships with and networks of applicable concept leaders, suppose tanks and academia.
  • Contributing to outcomes-primarily based reporting for numerous donors as needed, in compliance with all necessities of donors and LPI standards for tracking and reporting.
  • Supporting and striving for research excellence, programmatic effectiveness and studying in LPI’s battle transformation paintings inside the HoA.
  • Participating in and contributing to different obligations as assigned with the aid of the road supervisor, as wanted for the implementation of the HARP.

 Experience and abilities :

  • MA diploma in one of the following disciplines: peace and war studies (desired), social sciences, political technological know-how, international members of the family, or different related fields.
  • Expertise in instructional and/or policy-orientated research and publishing.
  •  Minimum four years of progressively accountable studies revel in in the conflict resolution discipline, with fieldwork enjoy at HoA/Pan-Africa level.
