Job Description
- Set internal technical standards, specifications and product performance testing requirements to meet retail standards, working across fabric and garment.
- Ensure the engineering of the garment meets authenticity and cost objectives per customer and aligns with capability of manufacturing base.
- Management of sample room producing development, fit and pre-production samples.
- Responsible for internal QA process.
- Providing an advisory service to internal Design and Merchandising customers with regards to the quality requirements of the TFG Brands to ensure effective input and decision making.
- Responsible for new and existing factory quality assurance process.
- Manage a quality team to resolve production, outwork and fabric issues at outwork suppliers and factories in Cape Town, Durban and Swaziland.
- Responsible for rating and production markers
- Resource planning ensuring technical and quality teams meets Quick Response timelines.
- Drive performance metrics in order to support strategic and style management functions and initiatives. This must include the planning process.
- Ensure that process and metrics support and are aligned to the Product Quality Assurance and Fabric Technology and QA departments
- The ideal candidate would need to have:
- Diploma or degree in Industrial Engineering / Clothing Production
- 8 – 10 years manufacturing industry experience essential
- Excellent problem solving skills & high attention to detail
- Experience with pattern making software (Lectra/Gerber preferable)
- Excellent communication, people management and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a similar analytical role will be advantageous
- Good organisation skills/methodical approach;
- Be a good team player and display assertiveness;
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
