Job Description

Our Client Systems is the global leader of controlled environments and safety technologies for the underground
mining, tunnelling, chemical processing, disaster relief and biotechnology industries. They specialise in the
manufacture and supply of emergency refuge chambers, disaster shelters and plant growth facilities, as well as
tracking, remote diagnostics and a range of electronic equipment including cap lamps and gas monitoring.
Exporting to over 70 countries worldwide, they has seven offices and three manufacturing facilities
globally; with Perth remaining as Head Office since the company’s establishment 25 years ago.
A successful West Australian company that manufactures safety equipment is looking for a dedicated and
successful business development professional to promote and sell our products into the mining, tunnelling,
construction, and chemical processing industries throughout Africa.
This role will entail being the Business Development Manager (BDM) for Africa overseeing the Ancillary and
sales portfolio. A significant aspect of the role involves cultivating and nurturing customer relations through
extensive travel to customer sites and ensuring hands-on engagement with customers to drive sales success in
the African region.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Coordinate service and operator training with your customers.
? Proactively prospecting and securing new business opportunities within the African Market.
? Maintaining and building Customer / Industry Stakeholders / Mines Department relationships.
? Achieving budgeted sales.
? Processing new sales leads including preparing and sending quotes and quotes follow up
? Negotiate terms and conditions of sale with the client – payment terms, freight and currency.
? Prepare and present tenders and presentations,
? Providing excellent customer service, including giving advice and technical information to customers
on the company products.
? Following the MineARC Africa, Ancillary and Ancillary Technology products Strategic plans.
? Extensive travel includes Mine Visits, Commissioning, Training, Presentations, Entertaining, Expos and
Trade Days
? Ensuring that refuge chambers sold are commissioned and serviced in accordance with Clients specification.
? Present sales results and opportunities to Management during monthly consultations.
? Maintain the Clients Africa, Ancillary and Ancillary Technology SAP Opportunities and CRM Databases
? Coordinate service and operator training with your customers.
? Motivate, train and mentor agents and distributors

Skills and Requirements
? 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.

? Experience in selling and supplying plant and or equipment into the mining, construction and
petrochemical industry.
? Ability to present to all levels within an organisation including Senior Management
? Technical aptitude
? Proven ability in achieving sales budgets.
? Experience in the mining industry is a big advantage.
? Demonstrated ability to source and maintain customer accounts.
? Self-motivated and career focused.
? Ability to travel.
? Ability to effectively use MS Suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
? Ability to present at seminars, conferences and corporate functions.
? Diploma / Degree would be an advantage.
? Strong verbal and written communication
? Strategically minded.
? Initiative and good decision-making skills
