Designing and implementing data architecture: Managers are also expected to play the role of individual contributor. Responsible for designing and implementing data architecture with have specialized knowledge in various ETL (Extract, transform, load) tools such as Informatica, Hyperion etc that meets the organizations requirements for data storage, processing, and analysis by considering long term strategy, right tools in a cost-effective way.
Developing scalable data pipelines: Should play the role of Individual contributor in developing and maintaining scalable ETL data pipelines in Cloud environment that move data from various sources to the organizations data warehouse or data lake.
Ensuring data quality: As a manger, choose right technology platform to enable data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation and right testing processes in place. Perform TDD review and code review and recommend right practices from time to time. As an Individual contributor, responsible for adopting DQ framework in order to ensure quality to our downstream business partners.
Managing data security: Responsible for managing data security(PII, SPIIs) to ensure that the organizations data is protected from unauthorized access, or misuse.
Collaborating with other teams: The manager is responsible for collaborating with other teams such as data scientists, business analysts, and software developers to ensure that data is available and accessible to support business decisions.
