Job Description
Procurement Management:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, equipment, and services required for steel manufacturing.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.
Warehouse and Inventory Management:
- Oversee the efficient operation of warehouse facilities, including layout design, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes.
- Implement best practices for inventory management to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence.
- Utilize advanced inventory management systems to track inventory movements, improve accuracy, and streamline operations.
Stores Management:
- Manage the stores department responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables for production and maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement procedures for efficient issuance, replenishment, and tracking of store items, ensuring availability and minimizing downtime.
Contract Management:
- Lead contract negotiations and management activities with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Monitor contract performance and enforce adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements through strategic contract management.
Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency, resilience, and competitiveness of the supply chain.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by analyzing data, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing process enhancements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to proactively adapt supply chain strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management within the steel industry, with a strong background in procurement, warehouse management, and contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in using supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
