Job Description

Plan, schedule, and supervise all functions within the Human Resources Department for the plant

2. Assure compliance with company policies, union contract provisions, and government regulations and laws concerning human resources matters

3. Interpret instructions, personnel policies, and union contract to subordinates department heads

4. handle or assist in handling company-union labor contract negotiations

5. Conduct wage, salary, and benefit surveys to assure competitiveness in the area

6. Counsel department managers and supervisors on matters of discipline and conflict resolution

7. Conduct employee counseling, as required

8. Ensure training programs are in place to address the training needs of employees

9. Ensure safety programs are in place to minimize injuries and workers compensation costs

10. Meeting with departmental representatives to discuss HR issues

11. Assisting departments with their recruitment needs through liaison with agencies/ advertisers

12. Coordinating prospective candidates, interviewing them and administering offers

13. Conducting inductions of new staff

14. Preparation of monthly Payroll

15. Assisting with the production and implementation of HR policies and procedures

16. Responding to other queries from other personnel in the company
