Job Description
The ideal candidate must be dynamic, driven, deliver a service of high quality and be process
orientated. Prepares, services, adjusts/sets, maintains and operates production equipment to ensure
the required quality and production levels are achieved. The main duty of this role is in doing the
actual building and installing of the the clients products, and the conducting of the Electrical Certificate
of Compliance is a significant requirement.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Servicing and Maintenance of Refuge Chamber
? Perform regular inspections and maintenance on all refuge chambers to ensure they are in
optimal working condition.
? Replace and repair any faulty equipment or components within the refuge chambers.
? Perform planned services on the refuge chambers.
? Installing components in Refuge Chambers in accordance with to internal and external
requirements. Ensuring the Quality management system is followed.
? Test all relevant installations in and on the refuge chambers both on site and in the
workshop.
? Setting short- and long-term goals and achieving them.
? Site commissioning of refuge chambers as required.
? Electrical fault finding /advice to customer as required.
? Electrical work as required.
? Installation of Permanent Refuge chambers as required.
? Stores work as required.
? Minimize downtime by resolving issues promptly.
? Adhere to deadlines for completing repairs and maintenance tasks.
? Knowledge of onsite safety regulations and protocols.
? Generate accurate reports for customers and the employer to track.
? Share knowledge and experiences to improve overall service quality.
? Provide training and technical guidance to site personnel on chamber operation,
maintenance, and emergency procedures.
? Attend all site safety meeting and address any issue around the clients equipment
? Represent the Client on Site addressing any issue or complaints, as well as fly the Clients
flag.
? Identify and generate opportunities on site for clients equipment
? Establish and maintain strong relationships with key strategic partners.
? Provide Weekly Activity Report to the Service Manager and General Manager
? Providing excellent customer service, including giving advice and technical information to
customers on the company products
Gurdian Remote System Monitoring
? Monitor the GuardIAN system to ensure real-time tracking and functionality of all refuge
chambers.
? Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the GuardIAN system, ensuring it provides
accurate and timely data.
? Perform regular updates and maintenance on the GuardIAN system software and hardware.
? Monitor the GuardIAN system for any abnormalities or alerts and take appropriate actions
by reporting to mine management and security ensure the safety and integrity of the
chambers.
Skills and Requirements
? The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical field.
? Matric / NDip
? Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
? Attention to detail.
? Relationship Building skills.
? We require a candidate that achieved their Trade test as either an Electrician or a Millwright.
? Underground networking experience. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) qualification
required as a minimum.
? Medically and physically fit to operate in a manufacturing environment and perform
physically demanding tasks.
? Creative problem-solving to develop effective solutions.
? Adaptability to handle unforeseen challenges on-site.
? Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
? Safe and efficient driving skills for on-site visits.
? Ability to understands client needs and provide tailored solutions
? Building and maintain strong relationships with clients.
? Team player, who can collaborate with colleagues, such as other technicians, engineers, and
sales team.
? Candidate that is registered to conduct Electrical Certificate of Compliance is an added
advantage.
? Open to work in the DRC (Kolwezi)
? Able to work autonomously with limited access to management support.
