Role purpose
Driving transparent financial management in all 2 affiliates of North Africa (NA) MU, ensuring adherence to IFRS, local GAAP compliance, and internal controls.
Take full direct ownership of Commercial Finance & SOI management in the affiliate of Egypt and ensure timely consolidation of the 2 affiliates and review of overall North Africa MU SOI KPIs.
Member of the NA Leadership team, playing a key business partnering role to deliver the business strategy.
Commercial Controlling:
- Leading all MU planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Providing guidance to the NA organization during the official forecast planning periods by setting up a timeline calendar and ensuring all activities are undertaken as per the timelines and with high quality.
- Gathering, analyzing, and preparing relevant financial information as basis for planning, steering and decision-making, to improve efficiency and profitability of the MU.
- Work with cross-functional team to deliver efficiency and cost optimization programs.
- Work with commercial team to identify value chain optimization and Business Model efficiencies to deliver Gross Margin ?velopment.
- Ensure that the sales controlling teams are compliantly planning and tracking trade investments in the market.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Controlling COE and sales teams on ways to improve overall working capital as a measure of efficiency.
Financial Controlling & Accounting:
- The NA Finance Head will work in close partnership with the financial controlling team to ensure that:
- The GE numbers are as per plan and in line with the expected KPI.
- The monthly closing numbers are in line with the plans and expected monthly closing KPIs.
Marketing Budget Controlling:
- Marketing Budget Controlling is provided as a service by the COE Marketing controlling team of AME. The NA Finance Head will work in close partnership with the AME Marketing Controlling team to ensure that:
- The marketing budget KPIs are as per the SOI KPIs and that the investments are done based on strategic priorities of NA.
- NA Leadership team reviews the marketing budget investment KPIs by category regularly.
Leadership:
- Play an active role as an Africa Middle East Finance Leadership member and build and sustain a strong, engaging, fit-for-purpose finance organisation – providing talent pipelines for Africa Middle East.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Certified accountant with more than 10 years of experience in Finance in the FMCG industry (in a multinational environment), with the last 3 years in leadership roles.
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience in Commercial Finance roles (preferably in distributor management, brand marketing).
- Finance qualification with certified accountant qualifications (CPA / CMA / ACCA etc.).
