Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. What a great watch! There are so many choices out there (even when you filter out a large portion of those you are clearly not interested in :-). Know what you like, use discipline with your cash, be logical, but then even after all that, you will eventually just have to let the right brain kick in and choose based on creativity and intuition. I needed a watch, and wanted a decent one, that looked good. This does all of that in style. It's not too big, its fairly waterproof, easy to read with clean lines. I wanted lume... The textured face has an interesting effect, like looking out a window at late dusk. Don't buy too many things, but when you do be wise. Even the Dalai Lama likes good watches.
