The only reason I changed was because my feet kept slipping forward (sweaty feet -full disclosure) so if I had not forgotten the slip pads, I could have wore them longer. The front strap is a clear plastic but the bow is made out of a material that is durable and pretty (does not look cheap.) The arch support is comfy and the strap around the ankle is secure.
